There are times in life, when I have heard the Holy Spirit speak so clearly, that it’s undeniable to me that it was Him. While I freely admit that “it’s been a minute” since I’ve experienced this, today I bring you just such a word…
See, in order to understand why this word had such an impact on me, you have to understand that I’ve been in a rather dark place – perhaps it’s shown through my writing? There are numerous reasons for this, but although I’d never allowed my faith in God to dwindle, my hope for the future, had.
And then the Spirit spoke:
The world will not affirm you
God has a way of speaking volumes to me while using very few words. Let me unpack this a bit to give you a clearer picture of what He was intimating…
- If you believe in the One True God, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that He created us male and female, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe in universal moral constants, that is to say – right and wrong, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of the Living God, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that as a man sows, so shall he reap, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that mankind is irrevocably fallen and incapable of redeeming themselves, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that Yeshua – Jesus, is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father but by Him, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that God created ONE race and called it “human“, the world will not affirm you.
- If you believe that true justice proceeds from the throne of God, the world will not affirm you.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. If you stand for truth, in a world which runs on lies and deception, the world will NOT affirm you – even when you’re dead right.
I find this word to be very uplifting because, despite the protestations of “the world”, it is not their approval we’re after… it’s God’s. More over, if we have aligned our thinking in accordance with His word, then guess what? HE affirms you.
In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage — I have conquered the world.
