Today’s article will be uncharacteristically short, sweet and to the point.
Holy Spirit spoke to me the words echoed in the title of this post:
The way, is forward
Being that the timing of this statement marked a point in which I was contemplating nothing of relevance, I knew this was a divine interruption. I also see here layers of meaning…
For starters, “The Way” was the first name given to the faith of those who embraced the fact that Yeshua is the Mashiach (Messiah).
Forward… is where we’re going. Forward to restoration and revival. Forward to blessing and the fulfillment of promises made corporately and individually. Even when Israel found herself facing a vast watery expanse and the thunder of hooves pounded at her back, the way was (and is) forward.
On another note, the Lord frequently speaks to me using media from my past – things I recall well and relate o on some manner. Recently, He brought an old song to mind; The Confessor by Joe Walsh.
Now I am not suggesting that we draw our theology from this, but it does speak to the issue I’ve pointed to numerous times myself; that the actual character of the Messiah and that painted for us by cultural Christianity are not the same…
I’ll take the real thing every – single – time.
Until next time,
