Apologies to those who came to the site ad encountered an article filled with broken images. The site somehow got infected with malware and, interestingly, only those images which sought to expose the occult influence and symbolism throughout our modern society got corrupted. I have re-edited, re-uploaded and repaired the images and the article is now restored…
Last week we took a brief look at magic and the various meanings that term can infer. Specifically, I highlighted the topic of lesser magic and the requirement that those undertaking the enacting, or casting of such a spell must gain the agreement of the parties involved. This week, we pick up that discussion with a look at pagan influence in our “modern” culture.
Pagan Symbolism in Modern Culture
Would it surprise you to know that the symbols of paganism are common throughout modern culture? In fact, the signs and symbols of this are so commonplace that they go largely unnoticed by the vast majority – let’s take a look at a few examples.

It should surprise no one, given the heavy Masonic influence on America – and given the heavy Ancient Egyptian influence on Freemasonry, that we find such symbolism nearly everywhere we look. We even carry it around with us on our currency.

What you see pictured as the capstone of the pyramid on US currency is an image symbolic of the “All Seeing Eye”, otherwise known as the Eye of Horus.
I addressed the following in the article Seeing the Matrix – Part Two, but it bears repeating here. I would furthermore reiterate the question I posed in that article; are obelisks really just ‘that cool’?

Now, I’m leaving some things here for the curious to research and discover for themselves, but you should know that the Obelisk, as stems once again from Ancient Egypt, is actually a representation of Osiris’ penis… so why is it that we see the phallic symbol of a pagan deity in nearly ever major location on earth?
Okay, now check this out…

What you’re looking at is an aerial view of the Capital in Washington DC, next to the logo for the Bohemian Grove… now there’s a rabbit-hole for you. Note the stark similarity of the marked portion of the map with that of the logo presented. The symbol of the owl hearkens back through antiquity and points to a number of deified figures. Notably among these are the goddess Athena, or Minerva as she has been otherwise known. Should it surprise us that, in a city overflowing with Greco-Roman architecture and influence, that we find such an obvious connection between the two?
Here’s a thought for you, why exactly are owls deemed wise? Apart from the influence of mythology, otherwise known as paganism, I can’t really think f any good reason – and yet, this is a trope known and accepted far and wide.
We could spend quite some time exploring the esoteric imagery associated with Washington DC, but the fact is, there’s a whole world of occult imagery around us…

Okay, you see that right? Does this require further explanation?
Help me out here, why exactly do we seem to be so preoccupied with Ancient Greece and Egypt? I mean, now we’re building pyramids again… and honestly, not even as good and not nearly as robust.
Why do we keep seeing the hallmarks of Ancient Egypt popping up all over the world, again and again and again?
Seriously, they do this kind of thing right in front of us, trusting that we won’t see – or that those of us who do, will be dismissed as fringe.

Pictured left are two of many statues of Gog and Magog to be found in London England. This, as several others can be found in a Cathedral none-the-less.
If you do a simple search pertaining to London and Gog & Magog, you’ll likely find numerous images and articles explaining that Gog & Magog are considered to be the Protectors of London.
I ask you, how the hell does that happen? And within Cathedrals purported to be Chrisitan – dedicated to the worship of the One True God? The same God that scripture tells us these two will come against at the end of the age…
Now when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to bring them together for the battle. They are as numerous as the grains of sand in the sea.
Revelation 20:7 – 8
Moving on, I have also noted throughout my observations that pagan and occult symbolism has become all too common within our modern societies. Take a look at the following and ask yourself if you recognize any…

Anything there grab your attention? Are you surprised at how many of these you are at least vaguely familiar with? Could it be because these kinds of symbols are found nearly everywhere in modernity? It’s just a thought… but if you do find yourself pondering this, I’d suggest the real question is ‘why are these kinds of symbols everywhere?’
We could hang out on this issue for some time – this is just a ‘drive-by’ – but we have more to cover…
The Rise of Witchcraft
It should be obvious to anyone paying a modicum of attention that, within the last several decades, we’ve seen an explosion of paganism and witchcraft throughout our cultures. From the rise of Wicca in the 90’s, to the Church of Satan taking center-stage on a not-so-uncommon basis, the presence is undeniable – as is the influence.
I mean, for something that once so spurned and reviled that people were burned at the stake for simply being accused of practicing such occult knowledge, we now find ourselves faced with a veritable onslaught of such information. Outlets proudly supply information and materials to would-be practitioners on a regular basis – places like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Barnes & Noble, the list goes on and on.
Personally, I’ve seen this going on for some time and, while I’m not surprised by what I see playing out currently, I do have to admit that it seems to have hit a fevered pitch. One significant question comes to mind…
Why?
We could delve into the time-frame through which this has all been brewing and how indoctrinated our societies have become into such matters, but I think the real answer here is that on some level, it works.
Yeah, you read me right – witchcraft works.
Consider for a moment, the number of person held in high-regard by masses of people, who openly espouse witchcraft as the means of their success. The following is a list of names of persons who have openly admitted to, or have been identified by those around them as practicing witchcraft… see if you recognize any of these names:
Azealia Banks
Daryl Hall
Fairuza Balk
Gabrielle Anwar
Sammy Davis Jr.
Kate Bush
Jimmy Page
Stevie Nicks
Cybill Shepherd

For years now, there have been no shortage of “whistle-blowers”, particularly within the entertainment industry, pointing to witchcraft and outright satanism as being highly prevalent behind the scenes. Many postulate that, in order to reach the highest levels of success, one must submit to the esoteric orders and become, themselves members, subjects and practitioners.
Now, what effect do you think this has when say, a young man or woman with a stellar voice or significant talent and a desire to “reach for the stars“, hears their favorite icons attributing their success to such practices? Do you think they simply dismiss it out of hand, or are many likely to attempt following in the footsteps of their heroes. Is it any wonder then, that so many among the youth are far less resistant to the influence of occult knowledge than one would hope for them?
Moreover, why do so many who begin to explore such knowledge, remain in said pursuits? I mean, I personally don’t take all that long to abandon pursuits that simply don’t work and are obviously in vain – do you? If that supposition makes you uncomfortable, I would remind you of the principles regarding “magic” laid out in Part One.
I also have to wonder, from what do these practitioners draw power? I mean, we as believers derive our faith and strength from the creator – I don’t know about anyone else, but drawing upon the strength of the Lord is, for me, a daily requirement… so I have to ask, what it is it these witches draw upon? Furthermore, from where did this “esoteric knowledge” originate?
And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they taught them charms and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants.
Enoch 7:1
As a final thought for this week, I’d like to provide you with some examples of “lesser magic” at work. These, if you recall, are really the tools through which we are invited into agreement with the “spell” and the “spell-caster”, knowingly or unknowingly…
