I’ve spoken several times about spaces between – specifically, that space between the place of sleep and awake – but recently I have started to become more aware of another “space between”; a pinch-point if you will.
You see, in a moment of rare lucidity, it struck me that we, and by we I mean all of us, as in humanity, are in a precarious moment. It’s a point in time where that which was is fading, yet that which will be is not yet. It is a timeframe where I can hear the echoes of Jeremiah…
Ask yourselves this and consider it carefully:
Have you ever seen a man give birth to a baby?
Why then do I see all these strong men
grabbing their stomachs in pain like a woman giving birth?
And why do their faces
turn so deathly pale?
Alas, what a terrible time of trouble it is!
There has never been any like it.
It is a time of trouble for the descendants of Jacob,
but some of them will be rescued out of it.
Jeremiah 30:6 – 7
What I’m driving at is that now, right now, we can hear the echoes of revival that seem to be stirring here in America and even beckoning well beyond our borders -yet at the same time, our culture continues to spiral, seemingly out of control. We consistently hear of wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in diverse places, warnings of coming famine and on and on. It’s as though the whole world picked up the opening passages of Matthew 24 and said “yeah… let’s do that!“
I stated in the article Unanswered Prayers that I had come to understand that the revival that we and generations before us have sought, might come on the heels of intense persecution – and even now I see the inversion of good and evil, light and dark. I see the beginnings of said persecutions as the drums of the enemy grow louder and louder.
in the midst of this, I also hear the ongoing reassurance of the Lord saying “fear not” – so I want you to know that is not in a spirit of fear that I pen this – nor is it in attempt to cause fear, but to simply point out what I see plainly. It is something that causes me concern and comes with a somberness bordering on melancholy – borne of the knowledge that many, many, many within the body of Messiah are woefully unprepared for what’s coming.
At present, we aren’t “there”, at least not yet. Currently we find ourselves in a space where one door is closing, and another just beginning to open. As such, we must watch where we put our hands, brothers and sisters, lest we find ourselves pinched by one door or the other. We cannot cling to what was, nor can we expedite what is not yet. The only thing we can do is continue to abide in Him and trust that He is good – that He is faithful and that He is deserving of our trust.
Perhaps we’ll see a resurgence of morality sweep throughout our culture – or perhaps we’ll see a violent resistance to the winds being sent by the Living God. Personally, I suspect we’ll see both at the same time, but I’m not trying to prognosticate; only to warn and gird you up.
You see, I was given a word from the Lord about a week ago – amid some personal reflection;
Everything will burn.
Everything.
Now at face value, that may not strike you as good news or an encouragement, but I promise you that this is exceedingly good news and very encouraging.
You see, everything that does not stand the test; our selfish acts and ambitions, our sins and even our sufferings will one day be burned away. It will all be burned away by the very fire of God Himself – the fire that will, once and for all, make all things new and restore the entire universe to its rightful state. Those things we truly did for Him, well the honor of that will persist. The honor of our sufferings for His name will persist, but the rest will be burned away like chaff.
I don’t know about you, but I see an elegance and beauty in that idea that defies my full-understanding, and yet I know to the core of my being that it’s true.
In the interim, there is one true goal for each and every one of us as His disciples… to enter into the rest of our Master and hear the words, “well done My good and faithful servant”.
I want this more than I want anything else in the entire universe. I want this for you too.
Now is a time to press in – to stay close and to be found about the Father’s business. Be still. Listen patiently. he’ll tell you what He wants you to do.
Then, just go do it.
THAT will withstand the fire. THAT is true faith and real obedience. THAT is worth more than Gold or Sliver because that is what the Father values more than anything else we could offer.
Today marks the release of my new record, Under Fire. Tonight, at 7:00 PM Central Standard Time (GMT-6 / UTC-5) the first video associated with release will premier – ‘Plan B‘.
I hope you’ll consider checking it out.

Until next time,
