So, you may note a theme in the latest musings here on DCMG, such that it may seem like I’m getting “salty“, and the truth is, I have – and more than a little. Here’s the thing; this isn’t something I try to hide or otherwise pretend away. God knows me better than I know myself and honestly, the whole pretending thing just doesn’t sit with me… I’ll take real over fake every single time, even when it isn’t pretty.
I know for a fact that I’m not alone in this. I’ve heard similar sentiments from other believers on more than a few occasions and honestly, it’s quite understandable. I mean, look at where we’re at! We have a wicked, illegitimate regime heading a nation that they clearly want to destroy, wickedness now occupies a place of political piety while righteousness is deemed to be selfish and evil, and the prophesied revival has yet to manifest, at least in any recognizable form.
I could go on, but it isn’t my purpose to create a list of gripes; God is already well aware of them – but if you have been praying into issues (and I know you have), then you don’t need me to enumerate them anyway. You already have an issues list and it’s likely not a short one.
I totally get it.
There is, however, another side to the story:
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
So, while I grant you that I have no desire to take even one more lap around this mountain, I also know that the whole of events aren’t about me, or you – but about God and us. ALL of us – and the more that issues seem to drag on, the more I see, hear and sense an awakening taking place right under our very noses. People are starting to get it.
You may be looking at the title and wondering to yourself, “what do Pyramids have to do with anything?” and that is a fair question. Allow me to elaborate:
Something the Lord has impressed upon me in the past few years is the prevalence of Pyramids throughout Human society. It’s not simply a reference to architecture from antiquity, but it speaks to a principle that, even our modern society is built upon… and it isn’t good.
See, in a pyramid structure, there is room for a small few at the top, held aloft by a slightly larger group, upheld by an even bigger group… the further down the structure you go, the more oppressive the pressure of supporting the whole of the structure. More over, the further down the structure you go, the less value a given individual is perceived to possess.
That sound “Godly” to you? It shouldn’t, because it’s not.
I’ve said this many times before, but Gods organization structure is horizontal in nature. There’s God, and then there’s everybody else.
Now when the other heard this, they became angry with James and John. Jesus called them and said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them. But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:41 – 45
Now let me ask you something… when was the last time you went to work and actually felt as though your boss was your servant? How about your bank? How about your City Council… or your Government as a whole? This is important because, until people see it, they can’t see the problem with it. The first step in recovery isn’t admitting that there’s a problem, it’s recognizing that a problem even exists in the first place. Admittance is secondary.
People are beginning to see this – the pyramids and the shams that construct them. As they do, they’re recognizing that something is very, very wrong. Only through this process does the revival we’ve longed for become truly possible – think about, you can’t lead someone to be “saved” until they first understand their own doom. Once that recognition has taken place, only then will “salvation” hold any real meaning or value to them.
Interestingly, in Judaic thought, Egypt (or Mitzrayim) is synonymous with iniquity or sin. It evokes a recollection of the corrupt empire and the slavery and oppression of the Israelite prior to God’s intervention. How appropriate then that, in modernity, we associate the Pyramid most frequently with Egypt. The illustration is poignant in my opinion.
Today, prior to writing this, I felt the Spirit speak…
Now is the winter of your discontent.
What I found uplifting here is the fact that winter is waning. Spring is coming, and with it ~ Passover.
Does that mean that when winter ends, so too does our “discontent”?
I don’t know, but I hope so.
Regardless though, we don’t have a “Plan B” – we have our faith in the Messiah and our Father God. Do not let go of that no matter what.
Lastly, remember brothers and sisters; though we may dwell in the shadow of pyramids, we are in the world…. not of it.
Until next time,
