We will continue our ongoing exploration of the Biblical timeline and its relevance to our times next week. There is still much to cover, but I feel that this current issue is more pressing and we are called to pray and intercede on Israel’s behalf…
I do not pretend to understand the intricacies of Israel’s political system, or the underlying mechanisms through which her government functions, but what I have been seeing in the news is concerning. It appears that a coalition of conservative – e.g. “right-wing” Jewish political agents, namely Naftali Bennet, and “center-left” as well as an Arabic faction have joined to oust the Prime Minister, Bejamin Netanyahu.
There is an old idiom which states “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, and it strikes me that we’re seeing this in action right now. The problem is that my enemy’s enemy, may only be my friend so long as we have a common enemy. Once that’s taken care of, then what?
I’m not going to lie, nor will I mince words; I like Netanyahu. He’s a no-nonsense, get it done kind of leader – and the world could use more like this, but my personal thoughts aside, I am concerned about the in-fighting that this could cause as well as what could be a complete overturning of the will of the Israeli people. You kow, like what’s happened in the U.S. to install a puppet-President against the will of the American people.
At any rate, pray for Israel. Pray that God’s will be done and that the leader HE (God) chooses will preside over the nation of Israel. Pray for the Israeli people and for their voices to be heard and, above all, pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
May those who love her prosper.
Psalm 122:6
Until next time,
