Know before we begin, that this is an “11th hour” article – that is to say… I had nothing to write until Thursday. For those unfamiliar, I do my utmost to post new articles each Friday ~ just in time for Shabbat. I didn’t have anything, because I wasn’t given anything and, the truth of the matter is that this isn’t a “blog” and I have no desire to pour out the events of my personal life just o fill space and meet seemingly self-imposed deadlines. I started this site at the direction of the Living God and, thus far, have always strove to only publish what He tells me to.
This week however, I had nothing – and then, all of the sudden… He spoke.
“Just because Joseph was given the interpretation to Pharaoh’s dream didn’t prevent the events from happening… it allowed Him to move through them with certainty.”
Now, you may be wondering what the heck that has to do with anything, but the tuth is – a lot. You see, there has seemingly been something of a conundrum with regards to our prophetic position – that is to say, where we are with regards to those words brought forth from the mouths of the prophets.
On one hand, there are those that have prophesied revival, renewal, justice and restoration – on the other, those who prophesy very troubling events in our (America’s) near future (I am specifically thinking about Pastor Dana Coverstone here).
What if I told you, they can all be both correct. Here’s where what the Lord spoke to me comes into play.
You see, Joseph was prophesied to rise to power, such that even his family would bow before him. This came to pass, not without or in spite of calamity, but because of it. In fact, if you pay attention to the details throughout scripture, you’re going to see that this a bit of a running theme – that the promises of God don’t come to pass in the absence of adversity, but through them – often, the perceived calamity becomes the very vehicle through which the blessing is carried!
Are you getting this?
Here’s the thing – nothing prophesied on the negative side of the spectrum has been stated to be the beginning of the end… that is, the time of Jacob’s trouble, better known in Western theology as “the Tribulation”. There are certainly those that interpret this all as such – even among some of those prophesying – but remember; God speak, we filter. If God truly spoke and something is off, the problem is in the interpretation, not the word.
I wrote the series on the Book of Revelation because I was told to. I was told to because there is so much misinformation and downright disastrous theology regarding the end of the age that many people don’t even know what to believe.
Folks, we’re not there yet. God and even Yeshua / Jesus Himself laid out very specific criteria that must occur prior to His return.
Why must it?
Because He said it would and He is never wrong. Never.
All of that to say; is it possible that the United States – even the world – could suffer financial calamity? Social upheaval? Worse?
Yes.
Is it also possible that on the heels or in the midst of this that we could see the fulfillment of promises God made throughout literal generations?
Yes.
Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6 – 7
Think about this for a moment; if you have peace when everything is sunshine and rainbows, that doesn’t even begin to defy understanding – in fact, it only makes sense. On the other hand, if you have peace in the midst of turmoil and chaos, well that will turn some heads.
I pray this peace over myself, I pray it over my family, over every believer and over each and every one of you reading this. Know that I do not pray for your happiness as happiness is momentary and fleeting, but for joy springing forth from this peace in knowing who it is that holds you in the very palm of His nail scarred hands.
Until next time,
