I feel it’s pertinent to clarify that, while the posts on this site of late may not seem to be entirely relevant to current events, none of this is indicative of my having “lost touch”. See, much of what I’ve been sharing hasn’t necessarily been targeting this particular moment in time – it’s not a matter of where we are, but of where we’re going – where we’re being led.
The fact is that the spiritual warfare currently is off the charts… I mean off the charts, and I am FAR from immune to this. As I sit writing this very article, I am expecting the proverbial “hammer” to drop at any moment. I discussed the circumstances of what I’m referring to in the article A Note About Donations & Other Administrivia – and no, that’s not a plug to try and get donations.
For those disinclined to read the linked article, I’ll summarize: I have been employed by the U.S. Federal Government for about 21 years – 10 as a contractor and 11 as a direct Federal Employee and I am facing termination for refusing to comply with the vaccine mandate. I did not seek a religious exemption (though I find no fault with those who did or do) because I do not need permission from anyone to exercise autonomy over my own body. In my view, seeking exemption requires me to treat this as being a legitimate order and that is something I simply will not do – Presidents aren’t elected Kings.
I should have been suspended from my position back in November, but this action was delayed. I suppose someone within the administration decided it would reflect poorly on them to enact such a draconian measure right before the “holiday” season – too little too late. The wickedness of this administration is all too evident ~ but I digress. Now that we’re in the new (Gregorian) year, it appears that they intend to pick up where they left off and purge those who won’t be coerced into compliance.
Now with that said, I want to share with you some of the things that the Lord has shared with me about all of this. Know that this isn’t just about myself or my situation – there are many in similar positions and I hope that some of what I’ve heard will be encouraging should you find yourself among that number.
Hananyah, Azaryah and Mishael
Otherwise know as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
When I was first notified of the coming draconian measures regarding the mandate, I knew this would be a fight. In prayer and meditation, I took the matter before the Lord and laid it at His feet. He replied with a single phrase: “Hananyah, Azaryah and Misha’el“.
I knew immediately that this meant I was destined for the proverbial “fiery furnace” and that the disciplinary measures laid out by the administration I work for would fall on me. While I wasn’t particularly enthused about this, I also knew that the Lord would be with me through it. I mean, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were not only unharmed by the fire, they were accompanied by the Spirit of the Living God – so strongly that they stood in the PHYSICAL PRESENCE of the Messiah Himself!
Now that… well, heck yeah! I’d take THAT any day!
Chillax – no I’m not here to tell you that Jesus appeared to me in physical form. I’d welcome it, but that hasn’t happened.
Today (the day of writing), as I pondered what is coming, the Lord interjected once more. Continuing His analogy of the fiery furnace, He reminded me that the men who threw the faithful into the fire were burned up. It was a magnificent show of God’s power that the fury of the wicked king was unable to touch the three, yet those who had aligned with the king and sought to carry out his edict were themselves destroyed by it.
Not that I wish ill on anyone, but I found this greatly encouraging. You see, I have been praying for years now for the Lord to overturn the wicked decrees against my nation, my people and the world. I have cried out, not for mercy but for justice – which is every bit an immutable part of His character as is grace. The fact is that the level of corruption and demonic influence is so firmly entrenched within our societies that it’s going to require a significant amount of exposure before it can all be dealt with.
Elijah & the Prophets of Ba’al
Lately, I’ve had Elijah on my mind a great deal. In all honesty, he’s one of my personal “heroes” and there are a number of reasons why; sure he’s a total bad-ass and the whole calling down of fire is super-cool and all, but it’s his humanity that clinches it for me. The same man who experienced the fire of God flowing down from heaven, who put 450 prophets of Ba’al to the sword, wails, mourns, fears and flees.
You can say what you like, but that encourages me significantly. Elijah, in all of his humanity was still God’s man – so much so that he was ultimately reserved for the end of the age. Now, if God can do that with Elijah, then He can certainly do something great with you and I no?
So while I don’t know exactly what it will look like, I do sense that the Lord is on the move and that we are rapidly approaching an “Elijah moment”, wherein the fire of God almighty will sweep down from the heavens and restore His people in the sight of all. Remember, it wasn’t the fire that slew the false prophets, but Elijah and the children of Israel.
Yes that’s a big word and yes – I’m dead serious.
Why the ‘Drama’?
Like the adaptation of Little John from that old Bugs Bunny cartoon, I’ve been beating this drum for a long, long time now and perhaps, like myself, you’ve wondered; “If God can do anything, why doesn’t He just DO it already?” Honestly, it’s a completely fair and legitimate question. Allow me to present you with a completely fair and legitimate answer…
You wouldn’t try to remove cancer from a living person blindfolded, would you? To be sure, that’s what we’re facing now; spiritual and moral cancer. First we have to see it, then we can eliminate it. Note the active presence of the ‘we‘ in that statement.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego weren’t just walking around fireproof 24/7 – they were preserved in a moment. Had they not been thrown in the fire, there never would have been such a miraculous display of God’s power. Likewise, God didn’t just rain fire down from heaven on the prophets of Ba’al – he sent Elijah.
In both of these events, there was a significant display of obedience to God above ALL. Hananyah, Azaryah and Misha’el refused to bow before an idol and Elijah came to confront the pagan prophets. Both times, God met the obedience and faith of His followers in a mighty way. Moreover, by doing things this way, God put real honest faith on display for all to see. As a result, hearts and minds were changed, and truth be told, that was an even greater miracle.
Those last two sentences are of the greatest importance, and here’s why; I’ve (we’ve) been praying for revival, for a mass spiritual awakening for years and years. The simple fact is that God has always moved in and with the participation of man; from the Red Sea, to the return from the Babylonian exile, to the cross. This moment is no different; as matters unfold, we are called to stand strong in faith and to pray and act as we are led by the Spirit. In so doing, we will enter into a kairos moment wherein we may be blessed to witness the changing of hearts and minds…
Incidentally, as I touched on in the prior section, God’s fire didn’t destroy the prophets of Ba’al, but Elijah and the children of Israel did. Following the display of power and the renewal of faith among the people, the false teachers and demonic influence were purged from the land. Only after this (well after), was Jezebel finally dealt with – and again, this was carried out by men (eunuchs to be specific).
All of that to say this: Stand strong warriors. I’m not tone-deaf and, more importantly, neither is God. His will *WILL* be done, on Earth, just as it is in Heaven.
Until next time,
שלום עליכם – Shalom Aleichem – Peace Be Upon You
